About Lina Button
It is homesickness to found, searched and lost relations. It is homesickness to people and feelings, it is homesickness to answers and simply it is homesickness to home in the countryside of the east of Switzerland. However, Lina Button is not a wet blanket, she is mixing her fleet-footed melancholy with a roguish smile. The contemplative Alpine country may be too small for Road Movies but nevertheless Linas compositions of "Homesick" take the listener with on a wide trip over mountain and valley. As she knew already as a small girl how to use her voice as a sedative for herself, she sings today about the stress and the anonymity of the life in the town. In April 2011 Lina Button was chosen as the “DRS 3 Best talent of the month”. Her debut album "Homesick" is reduced instrumentally to the essentials and is anything but boring: her voice has the necessary strength for the 12 songs which are arranged in the affectionate way of Bluespop and the compositions describe the different feelings of homesickness. The album which was produced by Thomas Fessler and Beat Jegen fascinates with a well tempered mixture of Blues, Country and Pop. Melodies which are carried by Lina Buttons unique voice, are vulnerable and fragile at one moment, hard and warmly in another. "Homesick" shows a young woman who has preserved her light-heartedness from the countryside and also knows how to establish that into a non-stop world.
